I found the story so far to be thought-provoking and deeply emotional. I want to read more and get to know the women on the level that I feel the author wants us to feel. I feel that this book is supposed to make the reader aware of the struggles of women with different cultural, language, and familial backgrounds living in a male-dominated world that is divided by war and oppression. I already feel emotionally connected to Huda, Rania, and Ally. Wilkerson writes so beautifully and thoughtfully, bringing all the emotions that come with poverty, war, trauma, grief, and fear to the front of the reader's mind. Pulling me in and leaving me with the desire to understand these women and their lives. I am learning about a culture and language that I have very little knowledge of and I want to know more.
