This was a really intriguing excerpt that introduces the perspectives of three women: two former childhood friends, and the diplomat's wife who they both meet separately. Wilkinson sets the scene well, and I found myself absorbed by the story already. I'm curious to see where it goes! The cover is very lovely, too.
