The opening chapter starts with a vivid flashback to childhood friends Raina and Huda becoming blood sisters. As we meet Huda years later the Saddam’s secret police pay a visit to Huda and convince her to become friends and spy on Ally, the wife of the assistant Australian ambassador. He is Huda’s boss. Huda is a widow and struggling as an owner of a gallery. Ally with her own secrets meets Huda and is invited to visit the gallery. Looking forward to reading this debut novel to see what happens to these three women.
