I have struggled with a number of books based in Middle Eastern countries. I really want to learn more about the culture, but a lot of the books are a struggle for me. This one was different. The writing was easy and accessible and written in a way that I could understand and identify with even though I have very little in common with the characters. I found myself connecting with each of the characters and I am excited to see how they change and how their connection changes as the story progresses.
