An Interesting Delve Into Another Culture

I've never read a book set in Iraq before so the cultural differences are interesting to see, especially since I am a woman and this focuses on the treatment of women in that country. The first main character Huda is the more interesting so far since she's been asked to become an informant on the embassy she works at. Ally is interesting as well as a foreign woman being treated in the country, she's the most relatable to see how someone like myself would be treated there. I also wanna see what happens when all three women interact with each other since the excerpt left them connected to each other in some way or another.
