I love the beautiful beginning of this book. Starting with a physical commitment to a friendship and fast forwarding to difficult years in a country run by a dictator this novel seems to show a gentleness and calmness that rises above the chaos of the time. The excerpt was beautiful and I simply cannot wait to read more!
