It’s difficult to imagine living in a place where the internet is controlled, fear lingers around every corner even in your own home, where one single action can get you killed. But that’s how many people live around the world. One such place is Iraq where people live under threat and Americans are the devil. Its important to read about these cultures, however, to appreciate and understand how other people live. This story tells of three women who live in this culture; one considered a traitor for working in a foreign office, one working as a single mother trying to make ends meet while protecting her teenage daughter from men with no respect for women, and one an Australian women married to an ambassador and who is trying to navigate a very foreign world. I am intrigued by their stories and hope to be able to read more.
