I was ready to adore Michal Oshman's "What Would You Do If You Weren't Afraid?". I was hoping for insights and ideas. I thought the combination of Jewish wisdom and witty insight might provide new ideas and perspectives that I had not previously considered. No dice. Nothing was new. The insights she pulls are just a rehashing of much what has been written about by many current writers such as Brent Brown (whom she cites as a reference).

Additionally, I had been a little wary of her discussions regarding therapists because it just seemed like she had crappy therapists. It seemed like she was incredibly anti therapy and given I read this in the midst of a global pandemic and a major mental health crisis I was concerned. She just had crappy therapists and discusses how much they sucked throughout the text never acknowledging that in fact her therapists were awful and therapy is still a valuable thing.

This is a good collection of ideas, but it's done better by other and was just not what I was hoping for.
