Unsure if This Really is Self Help
The problem with this first impression is that we only see the introduction. Like many introductions, it gives a background into the author, but shows little in the substance of the book. If it continues with stories of the author's life, then I don't think it will help people like it proposes it will.
However, if the book does turn itself into action items with a compelling narrative, then I can see how this could help people see how anxiety and depression affect others, not just themselves.
This is by no means a medically-sound book (nor does it propose to be one!) nor is it a "you must believe in my religion" type of book. I think it will probably have some great tips along with many narratives that could be beneficial to the lay reader.
It is not my type of book but I do see it being a nice read for others.
As for the book cover, it lacks excitement or the desire to grab it off a shelf.
