The entire story was very weird. Only reason I give it 3 stars is because of how it came together at the end. The ending was ok but I'd say that good last 25 pages were definitely interesting and ties the whole book together. I didn't care for any of the characters and the entire concept of these beings and what they can do is not my cup of tea. I consider this an easy read with not a lot of action but some mystery to it.
I don't think I have read a book where I feel like the focus should be not on the main character based off of what is being written. Arthur is the main point of focus and everything pretty much depends on him or relates to him. Much of the time is spent learning about Eleanors family and history. The monsters that she is now realizing is a part of. The plot is bizarre and what exactly was the intention for the story as a whole I have no clue. I expected dark horror and got a history lesson about monsters.
