"Rose Szabo's thrilling debut is a dark fantasy novel about a teen girl who returns home to her strange, wild family after years of estrangement, perfect for fans of Wilder Girls.''

So first off this book cover is stunning, stopped me in my tracks and made me want to read. The premise sounded intriguing and I was excited to read a debut author. I was initially intrigued about Eleanor and why she was estranged from her family at such a young age. I also wanted to know more about the incident between her and her classmates at the boarding school.

Sadly this book didn't work out for me at all. I felt like I had no idea what was going on as I read the story. The story line was very slow and I don't mind a slow build, but I felt the story wasn't going anywhere. If I’m being honest I found the plot to be boring and felt it was best to stop reading as I couldn’t stay engaged.

Next time I will be more careful with choosing books based off the cover and catchy quick take.

Thank you to Bookish First for my finished copy.
