I would love to give this book two and a half stars. I think that would be a fair rating because I really liked the last half of the book and really struggled to get through the first half. I’m normally a fast reader, but it took me almost two weeks to get through the first 200 pages. I honestly thought about not finishing. I couldn’t relate to the writing style, was confused on details, couldn’t connect to characters, and thought the plot was slow. However, I kept going and was glad I did. The story picked up a great deal. The true villain was revealed and many of my questions were answered. I also thought many of the characters had great growth throughout the book. I was also very satisfied with the ending. I think this book would be good as the first book in a series, and I think the author could take the story further. If you can get past the slow start, the book pays off in the end
