I generally don't tend to enjoy fantasy, but this first impression really drew me in. I think what drew me in was how distinctly domestic and normal it all seems. The undertones of danger and horror and gothic-ness are so subtle that it takes a bit to realize that you are truly reading about a family of monsters. I am very curious why Eleanor was sent away and what happened to bring her home and how she will fit in with this family that frightens her so much. Also, the book cover is very striking and drew my eye instantly when I saw it on the raffle page.
