The story plot so left field, I wanna bite of it!

First off - can we say how amazing is front cover?!? What is going on?! With the summary of the novel, I really can’t tell what’s gong happen. Like did she not live with her relatives before going to boarding school? Or why was she sent to boarding school in the first place? I really respect the author writing sort of an ambiguous book summary.
