So mysterious... I'm desperate read what happens next!
This is not my usual read, but I've set out in 2021 to pick more books that have weird and fantastical elements. This is one I cannot wait to finish! I really liked the cover - it's bright and eye-catching, but it did lead me to believe this story would be a little on the lighter or juvenile side (think: Goosebumps-ish). That's definitely an inaccurate description. The author's pacing and ability to create the brooding atmosphere of the family estate/home make this a haunting story that I can't wait continue.
From the very first page, I was hooked and needed to know what brought Eleanor back home. But the way this first look ended? I'm desperate to find out what happens next. How will Eleanor deal with her new position in the family, and (hopefully) discovering hidden family secrets! What a great read so far.
