This book has a pretty intriguing premise. Its portrayal of a dangerous family and the surrounding mystery behind them seems fairly compelling. I love reading books with magical realism, so I expected to see that here. While I am curious about this family and the narrator's story, I found myself less interested the more I read. Now, that could've been my mood, but I think the pacing had trouble pulling me in. Nevertheless, I can see how others would enjoy reading this book. I remain torn on whether I will read more.
