From the cover to the first couple of pages, this book immediately grabs your attention; even better, it keeps it! Eleanor is relatable (while also being utterly strange) and it's easy to become invested in her story. The author does a beautiful job of describing the setting; you can imagine the old family house and the forest so clearly. A little bit spooky, a little bit gothic, and a lot of a strong leading lady? I'm in.
