The cover is so bold and stunning, it immediately drew my attention. Even with that cover I wasn't too sure I was going to like the story but the excerpt totally changed my mind. The writing is really good and flows well and gets you right into the story. It's very mysterious even after you figure out a little about what's going on but I need to read this to find out what's really going on. This book is solidly on my radar now.
