As a teacher and an avid reader, I was captivated by the inner dialogue of the main character, Eleanor Zarrin, as she returns home after an accident that could not be repaired. She has to come to terms with the fact that she is a monster and needs to learn to accept her family of monsters and accept herself as she deals with typical teenage drama. The beginning of her journey is fascinating as she goes through a roller coaster of emotions as she reconnects with herself and the monster inside her.
