The story is intriguing as it sets up an Indian-inspired world full of demons and dark magic. The MC breaks out of her coffin to be surrounded by people claiming she's a witch.
Unfortunately, there's nothing to keep us interested in the character. All we know is that she did something that led to both her and her sister's death, yet the rest of the story continues as she tries to bring her sister back while world-building. We don't get enough to care about her sister or her situation.
Though I love a good dark fantasy, especially inspired by Asia, I won't be reading the rest. I also don't like the cover, as it doesn't give off the Indian-inspired setting. It makes it seem more gothic than the story.
