I always love a book that hits the ground running, especially when it's a fantasy book! It's easy to get bogged down in learning the ins and outs of a new world, which can make the first several chapters of a fantasy feel a little slow. This book avoids this by explaining the magic and superstitions as the story progresses!
I also liked that we got a flashback of Kajal and Lasya, and you really feel Kajal's urgency when it comes to resurrecting her sister.
