"We Hunt the Flame" is an incredible story of identity and living in a world where one is forced to survive. It was a little slow at first, but it was entirely worth the wait. The characters grew closer to one another as the stakes heightened, relationships were destroyed while others were strengthened, and each learned the importance of paving their own path, not the one others determined for them. It is a story of love and regret, death and forgiveness. There was no character I didn't fall in love with at the end, and no antagonist I didn't despise. Faizal wove a world so unique to the Fantasy genre, whether it was the system of ruling or the use of magic, and I cannot wait to revisit it in "We Free the Stars". What further blew me away was how Faizal could create such incredible romance without being explicit. Her writing is beautiful, and her book even more so.
