This book blew me away. It was a little slow in action during the beginning, but a lot of stuff going on with the characters. A lot was established in terms of characters during the first part of the book. However, once the action starts it doesnβt stop. I loved how Nasir and Zafira each struggled with the darkness in their lives and how they each dealt with it differently. Altair is the quick-witted side character that keeps the mood light (and always interrupting at the worst time π). This book was heartbreaking, beautiful, breathtaking, and action-packed. The language took awhile to get used to, but it didnβt take away from my enjoyment. I highly recommend picking up this book, you wonβt regret it. I havenβt picked up book two yet, but if you love fantasy, escaping into this world would be perfect.
