This book blew me away. It was a little slow in action during the beginning, but a lot of stuff going on with the characters. A lot was established in terms of characters during the first part of the book. However, once the action starts it doesn’t stop. I loved how Nasir and Zafira each struggled with the darkness in their lives and how they each dealt with it differently. Altair is the quick-witted side character that keeps the mood light (and always interrupting at the worst time πŸ˜‰). This book was heartbreaking, beautiful, breathtaking, and action-packed. The language took awhile to get used to, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. I highly recommend picking up this book, you won’t regret it. I haven’t picked up book two yet, but if you love fantasy, escaping into this world would be perfect.
