Um... agh... it.... it's.... b..b....beautiful.... Sorry that was a tad dramatic. I am absolutely obsessed with this book and these characters. They were so realistic and relatable and complex. Though I will say that the names were a tad hard to pronounce, but that is to be expected with a fantasy novel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The world building was also a tad shocking to me. Normally in a fantasy novel, I have to re-read the first few chapters a few times so I truly knew what was going on, but I actually could figure out what was going on in this one AND it was written so brilliantly. The imagery, the vibrant descriptions, the clearly time-consuming thought that was put into the culture and architecture. There isn't another way to say it other than just bloody brilliant.
And as always, in my reviews, I have to mention the cover. It is elegant, but also noticeably fantasy. I'm in love.
