First off, I really loved exploring the culture in the book. The author did a great job of weaving things together so I got the gist of it but it was not over explained. I learned new vocabulary in a new language and honestly, I want to research the culture and learn even more.
The story itself was very fun! It takes you on a wild ride with twists and turns that surprise and make you fall in love with the characters even more. All the while Zafira finds her true self and accepts herself for who she is and what she is capable of. How much more could you ask for. And for those of you wondering, yes a love interest is involved and paves the way for what could be a very excellent romance. As much as Zafira needs to find her own path, we cannot forget about Nasir who also needs to reconcile with himself. I truly enjoy the way the author weaves both of their stories into one but at the same time keeping it separate.
