While my expectations were set very, very high, I wasn't entirely disappointed. It didn't fully reach my expectations, but I still had a lot of fun reading it. The interactions between the two main characters had so much tension and i was on the edge of my seat waiting for what they would do next. This was a perfect example of a good emeries to lovers. The side characters were fun and witty and brought a bit of light to an overall dark book. The plot twists ad me closing the book to completely process what had just read. They were so unexpected and their were so many. When I got to the end, I was so wrapped in the action and the twists and the little betrayals and the deaths, I did shed some tears. I have been waiting to read this book for a while and I am glad I did I am now waiting to read the second. I cannot wait, and I have no doubt it'll be as good as the first.
