First of all, the short poem in the starting took my heart away. And the beautiful map of the world looked so stunning. One of the best beginnings. The first line hooked me. I really wanted to know how is that people lived because she killed. Flowy writing style. Kudos to the author's storytelling skills. Need to google the arabic words though. Love to read about strong female characters like Zafira. Feels like an amalgamation of Arabian Nights (vibes), An Ember in the Ashes series (the tension, the struggle) and The Bear and the Nightingale (flowy writing style and atmospheric qualities).
I think it would prove to be an engrossing read. I do want to read it and get to its end before this winter ends.
It doesn't drag at all. The inciting incident occurs just after the short introduction of the female protagonist.
Totally want to read it soon.
