We Hunt the Flame is a gorgeously written Young Adult fantasy novel, inspired by ancient Arabia, that will be impossible to put down or to stop thinking about. The pacing of the novel felt a little slow at times but the world-building made up for it. Every element was so thought out and the world felt so realistic. This is a very description and exposition heavy book but it worked for this fictional world. This book also has a big cast of characters and Zafira was my favorite. I loved seeing her journey throughout the novel and she experienced a lot of character growth. The secondary characters like Benyamin and Altair will also have your heart! Romance readers will love the enemies to lovers plotline and it adds a little extra spark to the book. This is a must-read ownvoices Muslim novel and it adds a new voice to the YA audience.
