We Hunt the Flame is a richly detailed fantasy novel inspired by ancient Arabia. We follow the characters Zafira and Nasir who are opposites but are drawn to each other. This novel has an enemies to lovers storyline (slow burn!) and just enough romance.
When I began this novel, it was hard to get into because of all the world building. Also, have a dictionary ready as the author uses Arabic terms. Overall, I loved the diversity in this fantasy novel because it made me feel represented and I could relate to the characters.
The plot is is very interesting, though, a lot of the book is traveling with the action happening in the last couple of chapters. I loved the banter between the zumra and the side characters introduced. I am definitely excited to read the second book We Free the Stars as the story is left off on a cliffhanger. Amazing book with amazing writing!!!
