We Hunt the Flame was an intricate and beautifully written book that kept me hooked throughout the whole thing even though the beginning of the story did start out slow. Usually the author’s writing style doesn’t really affect how I enjoyed a book, but the writing was so enthralling I couldn’t stop listening to it. The two narrators of the audiobook also did an amazing job in expressing Faizal’s writing and keeping me immersed in the complex world of Arawiya.

I’ve recently found my love of books with morally grey characters since they are very popular this year and this book did not disappoint in that aspect. Zafira and Nasir were the morally grey couple of my dreams and their relationship never took away from the story and only added more to it. Even the minor characters in this book made me love them and the story even more than I thought I would in the beginning. For two days straight all I did was listen to this book and when I finished, I was so upset I would have to wait another year for the second book. Definitely read this book if you want to read about an amazing morally grey couple and a beautifully descriptive Arabian story.
