This excerpt is completely captivating. There is a lot of world building, which is pretty common in fantasy, but it's really unique and interesting. Zafira bint Iskandar is a compelling main character. I love her strength and bravery. The book hoos your interest quickly and keeps it. I'm looking forward to reading this.
