I'm not much into YA or fantasy these days, but this was a lovely first impression. The artwork--cover, map, etc.--is gorgeous as well, and I'll be the first to admit that's what draws me to a book. The writing is lush and pretty, and even though I'm not that drawn into the story (only because of the really subjective reasons I mentioned about not being into the genre), I'd read more of this.
