I feel somewhat inadequate when I critique fantasy or science fiction as that is just not my favorite genre, and I want to give a fair evaluation. I do admire the imagination it takes to create other realms. This author has used some good descriptive writing to create a picture in my mind of the various settings for the story. I’m not at this point, however, invested in the characters or the story. I’m sure “boy” will meet ”girl” at some point. I’m also sure many people will enjoy this story, just not me.
