I read that this book would interest fans of To Kill a Mockingbird. To Kill a Mockingbird was one of the very few books I read in high school that actually held my attention. And this book, We Hope for Better Things, definitely has my attention. It is about the ‘67 riots and a journalist that is trying to uncover some truth about them. She finds out her great aunt is a white woman and her great aunts husband was a black man. The husband, had photos from the riot and someone approached her about returning the campers and photos to her great aunt without taking any of it to the public eye. I would like to look into how much truth is in this book and of course read the book as well! It pulled me in and has me quite interested!
