The premise of the story is interesting. I expect we will see how some things haven't changed much since the 1960's, together with a bit of journalism/exposing corruption and learning about some old family history. The combination has the potential to keep me (and others) reading.
It's not apparent to me what the cover evokes - is this the "Old Lapeer House"? It's a lovely picture, maybe with some foreboding.
