This book is a nice addition to my collection for its high spiritedness and the fact that it is so easy to follow. It makes for a great coffee table book! The author uses this piece of literature to explore many different Black female icons to demonstrate the importance of their contributions to our society. In addition, this book highlights those who are not as widely known for their work as others are.
Although this book fits in a lot of information regarding each individual that is highlighted, the author does a great job in making sure to include all the important information that the reader needs to get a great sense of who each of these women are and what contributions they have made. Also, it does make for great source material for those who need a quick lesson on a positive Black female figure for any academic reasoning. Overall this book was a delightful read!
