I couldn't even pretend to know what it's like to be an African-American woman in today's world and society, but Nicole Ellis efficiently gives you a small glimpse into the successful lives of so many inspirational, colored women who had to fight for where they now stand. Within just the first few pages I felt my heart break, recuperate and celebrate alongside each woman. What kind of author can do that?!
