Avery is moving to Bardell where her Grandma Letty lives. She and her parents are moving there to be closer to Grandma Letty since her health is declining. Avery’s mom, Zora, hasn’t been back home ever since Avery was really little, but they’re back now.

What did Avery’s mom stay away from Bardell and Grandma Letty for so long? Will Avery find her footing in this new town?
I can’t believe this is Jas’ first book because it was truly amazing. While I can relate to certain topics in the book, Jas wrote in such a way where I knew what the character was going through and what the character felt. For example, I felt like I could understand a sliver of what the character had to go through when hiding her true self to the world or scared of telling her parents that she is gay. The writings really brought out that true emotion you feel when you’re nervous and struggling. It truly made me feel so sympathetic for the character and only wanting the best. This book was emotional on so many different levels and I can’t wait to re-read this book in the near future and I hope the author will write more amazing books!!
