I'm so impressed with this debut, from the writing and the characters to the beautifully evocative illustration on the cover. Even with only two chapters spent with Avery, I can tell that she contains multitudes. She feels like a real person coming of age and discovering herself. I'm particularly fascinated with the backstory of her having been in a relationship with her friend Kelsi, who said a hurtful thing and is pretending like their friendship is back to how it used to be. Oh and Simone being obsessed with astrology is super exciting! Very much immersed in the story so far and would love to read the rest.
