In the few chapters I got to read about these characters, I'm already feeling so many emotions. I can tell Avery is a kind, smart, and caring character. I feel so much frustration for her and her situation - of having to move during her senior year to take care of an unlikable elderly grandma. There's definitely a baleful undertone in the writing and secrets somewhere that we have to uncover in dealing with Avery's family.
