After reading this excerpt, I really wish I had more time on my hands to read this book! I really enjoyed the descriptions, which seemed to make the story come alive; I could picture Mama Letty's house in my mind, and it brought back memories of my own grandmother's house. Additionally, I like that the story briefly changed points of view to offer more insight into the situation. Lastly, I am interested to see how the MC's relationship with Simone will play out. Overall, a pretty promising start to the book!
