I was immediately drawn into the world and characters of We Deserve Monuments. These opening chapters did such a good job of pulling the reader right in and establishing a sense of Avery and her immediate family, especially a sense of history behind them. At the same time, the little town is also very alive off the page, as are the conflicts building within it. The life and heart put into this book are so instantly evident, and the characters all feel very vibrant as well.
