The author moves the plot along well with the dialogue between the characters. The speech seems appropriate to the ages with the exception of, perhaps, Lettie’s use of the F word.
Undoubtedly the characters will grow and change as the story progresses. Avery has been taken out of her element completely. It would be interesting to see how she gets along with Simone and others in her new area. I know there will be some surprises as Avery gets to know her Grandmother Lettie. This is a book which I’m sure would appeal to many young people.
