This first impression was really good! The setting is definitely the most modern of books that I have read recently with references to MAGA America and dealing with high school during the Covid pandemic shutdown. It’s interesting how the main character is stereotyped as being ‘not black enough’ in DC and counted as a minority in Georgia. The writing is engaging and the storyline seems really original! It would be great to read more of this family drama.
