A timely YA story - We Deserve Monuments

The cover art of this book is absolutely stunning. I love the attention to detail given to the close up of the protagonist. I was captivated right away with the writing style of the author and liked how the story opened in dialog as the family entered the town they are moving back to. Small towns hold a history, and not always a pretty one. I think this will be a nuanced tale of southern families and how histories interconnect with our present.
