We are the Brennan's opens on a bit of a wreck, which the main character has barely managed to avoid serious injury. But this wreck really kicks of our story. The character finds herself drawn home and surround by her family in a way that has not been seen in a while.
The whole premise of this story really revolves around The Brennans. This is where the story find its heart in such a fun and unique way that honestly stole my heart. (I'm still half wishing to somehow bring this family to life, so they can be my family.) While I enjoyed this story I found myself sad that it ended and kind of wishing/hoping for a sequel with this family at the helm once again. I will just briefly mention that the cover art for this book is beautiful, but I am admittedly partial to flowers and greenery on books.
Lastly the writing style of this book really appealed to me because the author did such a great job revealing the secrets of the family as well as bringing the family alive, with imperfection and all. Overall this book is most definitely a must read for fans of books with heart and family at the center of its story. It is a very strong debut book for the author, and I look forward to reading her next books.
