Are you a fan of the family drama? I certainly am!! I loved Ask Again, Yes, The Nest, A Thousand Acres, I could go on and on. I will now be adding We Are the Brennans to this list of family drama favorites. The Brennans are a tight knit Irish-Catholic family, not without its secrets, and who may be loyal to a fault. Each chapter is told from the perspective of a different family member, and I love that the author starts each chapter with that character’s last line from the previous chapter. It’s a little cliffhanger in each chapter, a tease that kept me turning the pages!! This family is full of secrets that get revealed along the way. This isn’t a warm and fuzzy family drama. It’s a little dark and heavy at times. Things don’t get tied up neatly in a pretty bow at the end with all of those warm and fuzzy feelings, and I was 100% ok with that. Sometimes life puts just another obstacle in your path, and you have to close ranks and figure out a way around it.
