Wow, I loved this book. We Are the Brennans gave me all kinds of The Most Fun We Ever Had vibes. The Brennans are a close-knit family, loyal to a fault, and willing to do whatever they need to to protect their own. But sometimes being there for your family means you have to keep a secret or two, and these family members seem to have a never-ending supply.
I loved all the twists and turns of the story. I thought the characters were well-crafted and so believable and endearing. The relationship dynamics—between siblings, between parents, between romantic partners—are complicated but honest. This is a book that reminds you that the people we love aren’t always perfect—but it’s not about getting it all right all the time so much as making it right when you need to. Whoever sticks with you in the long run, come what may, that’s your true family.
