I am so happy I listened to this story. If I would have read a physical copy, I would have been upset. I liked the story and I liked the twist/aha moment but it took way too long to get there and it wasn’t so impressive. So it felt like a let down after all the time invested. Overall an Irish family story and their saga as they try to keep secrets hidden. You follow an old relationship and you’re always on the edge of your seat waiting for something to happen but alas it doesn’t. I think the author does a great job of making you dislike the characters and I loved how the next chapter begins with the line of The precious chapter ending.
I saw this book compared to Ask Again Yes and while I see the similarities, this was by far a better story as well as the fact that something does happen in this story , even if it’s not as powerful as I was expecting or wanting.
