I really couldn't put this book down. The constantly revolving points-of-view that follow no pattern keep the reader grounded. In life, no one knows who's going to take over next and Lange captures that feeling. She also created a strong feeling of continuity by ending each chapter with dialogue from the next point-of-view, really tying everyone together. This story is a fantastic blend of crazy family drama and realism. Each character has a distinct voice and way of thinking and they all interact differently, really stressing how much work Lange put into making her characters real. Even the way she handles mental disability shows prowess, as the characters acknowledge that they brother/son is different and all step up in their own ways to make sure he never feels left out. This is an awesome story that is definitely going on the reread shelf.
